Boys Still Need To Be Boys

In an era of social media-driven social pressure and mixed messages about manhood, boys have an urgent and deep need to relax, play, and absorb lessons from great role models about what it means to be a young man.

In today’s world, social pressure on boys to be “cool” and attractive to the opposite sex reaches into lower and lower grade levels.  Boys are simply unready to handle these kinds of expectations at such young ages.  Going to a boys-only camp gives boys a deeply needed break from those confusing and inappropriate social cues.

Moreover, modern culture can be deeply anti-male, and the very concept of manhood is disrespected and dishonored.  This gender confusion seeps down to the lowest grade levels.  It’s unfair to ask grade school boys to navigate male-female complexities that the adult world barely understands.

To put it simply, boys need a break from the social upheaval and social challenges they unwittingly face every day.  At camp, boys thrive when their fellow campers are boys and their counselors are outstanding role models representing the best of what it means to be a man.

Camp isn’t just about play and relaxation.  It’s also a vitally needed respite from a social structure in our schools and communities that deeply disfavors boys.

There will be plenty of occasions throughout the school year for boys to interact with, learn from, and manage their behavior around girls.  In today’s world, though, boys benefit from a camp that offers a safe passage to becoming a young man.  And that’s what Nageela offers your son.
